Blob Storage

Recently I got my Payload CMS 3.0 Beta Blog up and running on Vercel. It took me a while of working with the Beta to get what was happening. I didn't have an environment variable setup correctly before, but I had fixed it and everything was working.

Then I needed to setup Blob Storage, so I used the Blob Store in my Vercel Project, and it worked without a hitch.

I used the Installation & Usage instructions on the @payloadcms/storage-vercel-blob npm page, which is really well written. Good job to whoever setup this page. 👏👏👏

New-ish DJ Rig!

In other news... I finally found the Pioneer DDJ-800 in stock. For the past 2 months I've been looking, and they have been out of stock everywhere. I looked around for it used, but this morning while I was checking out Guitar Center, I found a used one in excellent condition, so I nabbed it.

It's been over 10 years since I DJed in Atlanta 🎧

It's been over 10 years since I've DJed, since I used to DJ in Atlanta at Friends on Ponce & Mary's in East Atlanta. I miss it. It was how I made friends back then. I'm kinda shy-ish at bars. It's the sound level, excitement, ADHD, stimulation, etc. But it's overwhelming for me.

Although when I started DJing, I had a purpose at the bar, and kind of turned into a host for an event. It was so rewarding. I miss those days.

Now that I'm out of my 9 year relationship, I emerged without a real community in Oakland. I have a few friends locally, but not many.

My plans for DJing is to support the East Bay scene, since I think that SF already has their DJs, and I want to meet locals within my community and contribute to the vibe out here.

I already have my setlist planned for my first event. Looking forward to the journey.

Park & Wash

Also, I ordered my business cards from Vista Print for the car wash business I'm starting at my apartment complex. Those should be in next week too.

Jack London Park & Wash

Let me shine your ride.✨

I've been washing my car with a rinse-less wash since I got it, since I don't have a hose available at the apartment complex.

This past week I was washing my car, and I was on my step stool taking care of the roof, when I jokingly yelled across the garage to a friend, "I should offer this as a service!".

Then I paused for a moment, and repeated with determination, "Wait, I should offer this as a service." And we started chatting about it, and he mentioned Vista Print for his cards.

So I designed the business cards for it yesterday, and sent the print in today.

I waited until I had my landing page setup here for Park & Wash, so I could include the link as a QR code on the back of the card.

When I was doing the photo shoot for the card, some guy noticed on the 3rd floor of one of the buildings and started asking me about rates, and if I did detailing too. I told him my rate for a wash, but had no idea how to price out detailing. Interiors take a long time. I might have to checkout the car first before quoting a price.

I'll work it out, but I made sure that I didn't include prices on the card, so I could adapt them over time. 🤔
